Football Manager Freak is the great result between crossing the blog author’s love for video games and football with the greatest football management game of all times, Football Manager.

Our love started more than a decade ago, in 1996, when I first got my hands on a pretty boring (or so I thought at first) game titled Championship Manager. A few months later I was winning my 7th title with Newcastle United (still under the Shearer era) and the World Cup with a wonderful Eire (Republic of Ireland) squad.

Ever since 1996 I purchase the game and enjoy it more than I did with the previous game and every time I end up noticing that I’ve spent entire weeks playing the game. Which certainly proves that I’m a Football Manager Freak (hence the name of the blog!).

And now the time has come to create this blog where all my experience will be put to good use with the launch of Football Manager 2011, certainly the best game of the series thus far. Therefore, expect to find in this blog tons of posts about great Football Manager players (youngsters, cheap players, free players and players for the lower leagues), good tactics (and awfully bad ones!), updates about the latest happenings in the world of Football Manager, downloads and, of course, my very own Football Manager Story where I will actually write about my career as a virtual manager.

I guess this sounds pretty exciting for you and I really hope that we’ll see a lot of each other, so let’s have fun, Football Manager Freaks!
