We’ve had a decent pre-season with Chieti and all I can say is that I had some pretty high expectations this time in the game and I was pretty disappointed with how Serie A started (a 0-3 loss against AC Milan). But we managed to change things around and I am really excited about this season which will obviously be our most successful.

But until then, I had to say to the board that I expect us to finish somewhere at the middle of the table, when I actually hope we’ll go a lot higher:

However, despite the hurting loss against AC Milan, we managed to perform really well in the league, as well as the Europa League Cup Group stage:

As you can see, not only that we hadn’t lost a single game following the loss against AC Milan (until meeting a new team from Milano), but we also managed to get some impressive results, like the heavy win against HSV, or solid victories against title contenders Fiorentina or Genoa. Particularly impressive and at the same time very surprising was our win against HSV:

This means that we are right now on a surprising first place in the Europa League cup, with huge tactics of qualifying to the next stage:

The players performed really well, even though some performances are surprising (like Gil who is amazing even though his stats don’t show it):

And it seems that my tactic to invest in youngsters is paying off and we do have some really talented lads here with three of them on the shortlist to win the Best Young Player of the Year in Italy:

I can only hope that we can carry on doing a great job and perform against the teams that are at the top and manage to end a superb season for Chieti, one that fans will always remember!
