Chieti Story: Season 2018 – 2019 Ends

My goal this season with Chieti was to establish the team as a top 5 presence in the standings and I am pretty pleased that we surely managed to meet this goal – and maybe a little more, ending the Season 2018 – 2019, which was by far our luckiest season in the game.

We’ll start with the obvious: we were no match for Man City in the first Knockout Phase of the Champions League, but the lads managed to put in a good performance and we had some pretty decent games against the giants. Really, I don’t think that we could’ve done better. So here are our last fixtures of the season:

Yes, as you can see, we managed to win the Italian cup – an objective I never had in mind and I was sure we’re not ready for it, but we managed to do it and I am extremely excited, as this proves that we are a force in Italy and it’s our first major trophy since promoting to the Serie A.

We had a pretty decent end of the season and even though we got no win in our last three games in the league (and still can’t seem to be able to beat the Milan teams) we still managed to finish 4th in the league. It’s the same spot as last year, but this season we were higher and almost finished 3rd – our bad run at the end ruined it though:

The players again impressed me with their performances and it was once again proven that I have an eye for good players: newly signed Dantuma topped Chieti’s scoring charts with 20 goals, making Yildirim mostly a reserve player, especially as Stonebridge proves like a player to have great hopes for with 8 goals in 14 games.

However, the fans favorite was central defender Mario Silva (he does great thanks to the corner exploit in Football Manager 2012 – 12 goals scored):

But at least Dantuma proved to be one of the best signings in Serie A (and Fiorentina seem to have landed the new Messi, a regen named Enrico Senese that is absolutely amazing!):

We also managed to improve on the richest clubs list, going up 40 spots to 28th placed, meaning that pretty soon we’ll be able to pay higher salaries and attract better players.

But there’s also some sad news: Dortmund made an awful offer for our star right defender Novak and the stupid board accepted it and we lost the lad. He was great and served us well and I am very disappointed. But things like this happen so we can only move forward…

And this is my report for the season 2018-2019 in Football Manager 2012. See you soon with a new and hopefully more successful season!

Congrats on lifting the cup, and the league position wasn’t too bad either. Too bad you lost Novak but maybe you can find a good replacement with that cash.

Well done on lifting the cup, to give the team a great end to the season.

Although the league position is the same as last season, there is a distinct improvement in how close you are to the teams above. Shame the board stepped in to let Novak go, but hopefully you’ll fill the gap he has left and go on to produce an even better season next time around.

Thanks, guys! Indeed, although we were on the same spot, we had 4 more points and are closer to the big guys. Hopefully the new signings will make Novak’s sad departure forgotten soon :)
