How to Add a Custom Database in Football Manager 2012
There are a ton of database tweaks and upgrades available for download from Football Manager 2012 websites which add a ton of new playable nations and leagues, tweak the game for specific challenges and so on: the idea is that Football Manager is a highly customizable game and you should feel free to play with the database as you see fit in order to enhance your experience. I, for example, have changed the FM2012 database for my side-challenges and everything went fine until now.
However, in this article we will address a different thing: how to add a custom database in Football Manager 2012 – it’s not the most difficult thing to do and you should not worry when you are to download a new database from the internet. So here are the easy steps to add the new database to the game:
1. Download and copy or extract (if it’s a Rar file, using WinRar – free tool) the database to the following folder: Documents – Sports Interactive – Football Manager 2012 – editor data (if the editor data folder does not exist, feel free to create it)
2. Start a new game and when it asks you to choose database, you will notice at the bottom “Editor Data Files” and a button you can click to tick or untick – make sure that you click that button to select your database changes or/and a different database using the scroll down menu.
As you can see, it is extremely simple to add a custom database to Football Manager 2012 so if you never had the courage to download one because you thought it was too difficult, you should not worry anymore!
