Kettering Story: Season 2014-2015 Almost Over!
It’s been a really action-packed period of time here for Kettering in Football Manager 2011 but things went well overall, even though it appears that I’ve managed to find a really worthy opponent to consider a rival: Grimsby! Indeed, this club that’s one division lower managed to get us out of the Paint Trophy and despite the low odds, had fun with us in the FA Cup as well. At home as well. We lost 3 to nothing. Ugly!
However, that’s mostly the only bad thing I can mention for the past several games because we’ve managed to get some really solid results, including very important wins against Norwich and Crystal Palace, the main competitors for the number 1 position in the league:
This good series of games keeps us up at the top of the table, but there are in theory a lot of things that can happen by the end of the season (10 games left). I really hope that the lads over at The Poppies can keep it up and lift the trophy in the end but the fight is really close and still anything could happen!
10 games before the end of what could be once again a historical season for Kettering, things are looking pretty sweet for us, with games against teams that should provide to trouble beating:
The Kettering board goes crazy again
Yes, it has happened once again and I really hope that our chairman retires pretty soon because I really hate what he’s doing to us: after deciding to take the cash for many good players, they also decided to leave us with no cover for the left defender position, after accepting an offer (good one, indeed) from Leeds for the newly promoted Robbie Booth:
With just 2 days left to bring in somebody – and virtually no players to fill in the gap at a reasonable price or at least on loan, I had to splash in the cash and spend most of the money received on Booth to get us a semi-decent left defender:
And so managed Jamie Green to enter the history of Kettering as the most expensive transfer ever. And I’m not very pleased with that!
However, there are some good news regarding the semi in-house raised players: Eddie Futcher was purchased a couple of seasons ago as a hot prospect and I am happy that now he managed to get to the first team and perform admirably. He’s not a super star, but a player I’m starting to like a lot because it performs a lot better than the other back-up strikers!
These being said, we’re just a few games away from the title which we should lift (and I really hope that we do!) pretty soon. I really hope that no other problems arise!

Good form Calin, and with a 12 point lead over 3rd place you should have no problems getting promoted now
Shame that the board sold Booth, but Futcher is doing well at least.
Yes, he is indeed a big surprise for the team, but I like that at least we have some solutions and hopes to keep up the good form. I was just going to start playing a bit more when I saw your comment so thanks for it!
calin if you don’t want to lose anymore players because of the board set your players the asking price 150m..so you can keep them safe
i am really happy how the thing are going with kettering..you still use that tactic that you made for U Craiova?
Thanks for the tip, Ionut, I didn’t know about it and I’ll give it a try!
Regarding the tactic, yes, I am using my U Craiova tactic right now with a small mod: instead of two strikers, I use one and one AMC.
It’s remarkable in support of me to have a website, which is useful in support of my know-how. thanks admin
Paragraph writing is also a excitement, if you know
afterward you can write or else it is complex to write.
